Waylon Jennings left big shoes to fill in the country-music industry, Ewing Athletics and Waylon's son Shooter Jennings came together to help fans fill them. Both Patrick Ewing and Waylon Jennings were outlaws in their own right, neither of the superstars took to playing by the rules of their industry. Ewing launched his own footwear brand after turning down sponsorships when no other shoe would do and Waylon stepped away from the studio model popular in Nashville to produce and record albums with his own hand-selected crew of musicians leading to tons of number-one hits. Both respected greats in their industries, willing to take risks and do it on their own. The flagship Ewing Athletics shoe, the 33 HI, is an exact retro of the 1990 original. It features a classic reversible ankle strap that can be worn on the front or back of the shoe and a full-length PU midsole for cushioning.
